The Good Witch of The Common Room

I met Jen in the Common Room today. It turns out that she is really interesting and funny even though she likes Warhammer.

She is doing, English, History and Media Studies.

She is a Wiccan, and I know from Buffy that it means she is a Witch. She said it doesn't all have to do with Witchcraft though. She said it's more Spiritual and to do with Ethics and the Love of Nature.

I said I was really interested and told her about Marvin being a Mage and everything, and that she could teach me Wicca and some spells after college if she liked. She said that sometimes you couldn't be led to a place if you are not there already. I didn't know what she meant, and it sounded like pseudo-religious mumbo-jumbo to me, but I didn't say so.

Apparently her parents are Wiccan too. She said that it was getting near to the festival of Samhain, and the veil between worlds had become very thin so they had invited her great, great aunt to visit. She died in the second world war and so they were not sure whether she would come or not. At this point I starting explaining to her about Advanced Dungeons and Dragons again, but she didn't bite.

I wonder whether she has a Coven? I'll have to ask her. I wonder if they do any of that sky-clad dancing? I don't think I'll ask her that though. It's probably too cold anyway at this time of year.
