Chrystal Made A Monkey Out Of Me
Chrystal, the Captain of the Cheerleaders, Believes In Me and has given me a place on the squad! Well sort of anyway.
I went to my "try-out" last week. Jen came along to watch. She even brought her camera! I'd worked out a dance routine loosely based on a form of Jedi Martial Arts (there's an instructional video here if anyone is interested).
I was a bit embarrassed doing the routine in front of Jen, Chrystal and two other Cheerleaders, but I managed to get to the end without making too many mistakes. Chrystal seemed really impressed. She seemed to get a bit lost when I told her about the Jedi Martial Arts though. She said I could join the squad, but that I would have to start at the bottom and be the team mascot. I'm not very happy about having to dress up in a hairy orangutan costume, but I suppose it's a foot in the door and in any case I can think of worse outcomes than having to start at the bottom of the Cheerleaders. I tried to persuade Chrystal to change the mascot to be a Blue Wizard. She said she'd think about it but that it would probably have to stay as an orangutan. I think she will probably change her mind though.
So that's it - I'm on the team! Now I can recruit Chrystal into the JDL. Once I've done that all the other Cheerleaders will follow, and then we will have an Army to take on Daniel and his Women's Beach Volleyball Militia.
I asked about the After Match Showering Arrangements again. It's going to be very hot in an orangutan costume. By coincidence the football team always plays at the same time as the Cheerleaders, and Crystal has arranged for me to shower with them. I'm not very happy about that either because it feels like I'm being excluded, and also it doesn't sound very hygienic. Maybe when I go up a Cheerleading level I'll get full showering privileges. Maybe all cheerleaders have to shower with the entire football team when they start out.
Jen and Chrystal are complete opposites, but they got on scarily well. They kept talking about me as though I wasn't even there which was really annoying. Chystal kept touching Jen's arm while they talked (like she did to me when we first met) and soon Jen started doing the same to Chrystal, which I've never seen her do before. It was strangely exciting at one point, but at least it means that Chrystal wasn't coming on to me as I'd thought at first. I might be wrong, but I got the impression that Chrystal though Jen and I were a couple.
Chrystal says that I need to spend more hours in the gym to tone up more. I'm still cross with Jen for laughing at that. Chrystal said Cheerleading is very physically intense and that there can he a lot of heavy lifting involved. I think she is right. Just look at the size of the pom-pom she's got in the picture to the right!

Chrystal seems err...like she is well qualified in cheerleading.
Yes, I think so. You don't get to be the Captain of the Cheerleading Squad for nothing. It's a bit like the Starship Enterprise in that respect.
She got an A grade in her "Sports Studies" exam last summer but failed her English exam. If she can get at least a grade D in her English exam this time, she's going to do "Sporting Makeup Technology" at University next year.
You should see what she can do with a pair of pom-poms, and her trick with a basketball while doing the splits and a handstand makes my eyes water!
